“Eatertainment” is a dining experience that combines good food and drinks with an immersive environment of fun and games. This concept has gained popularity in recent years — with eatertainment venues seeing a 20% increase in visits year after year. The concept is hardly new; think Chuck E. Cheese or Dave & Busters. But new businesses are disrupting the old guard with delicious menus and fresh entertainment ideas that pull customers into their orbit.
Justin Amick is the founder and president of Painted Hospitality, an Atlanta-based company that operates several eatertainment venues in Atlanta. Amick spoke with “City Lights” producer Summer Evans about the four different Painted Hospitality offerings in Atlanta at the moment but highlighted one in particular. The group’s The Painted Park is a fully equipped indoor/outdoor entertainment space off of the eastside trail of the Beltline, offering two bars, three dining rooms, a DJ booth and tons of games for attendees to enjoy.
Battle and Brew at the Battery, which reopened this year, has been referred to as “the first-ever video game restaurant and venue in the U.S.” The space has technically been around since 2005 through a series of ownership changes and relocations. The space exists to nurture gaming enthusiasts of all kinds and features gaming stations, immersive experiences, a PC battle arena, exclusive gatherings, and more.
