The Atlanta City Council is looking to quantify the threat to public safety posed by the growing presence of scooters on city streets.
Councilman Dustin Hillis introduced a resolution Monday asking hospitals, urgent care facilities and other health-care institutions to submit scooter-related injury reports to the council on a quarterly basis.
The legislation was drafted by council President Felicia Moore in response to safety concerns expressed by Atlanta residents.
