A New York-based micromobility startup is bringing e-scooter charging, docking and service stations to Atlanta.
GetCharged Inc., or “Charge,” has secured more than 250 charging stations across the city, according to company officials.
Charge hopes to have its first 25 installations operating within the next few months.
Andrew Fox, CEO and co-founder of Charge, spoke to “Closer Look with Rose Scott” to explain why his company is launching its product in Atlanta first.
“Atlanta had a lot of the right things. For starters, the climate was right for us. But it also turned out that the city started enforcing tickets on the scooter companies,” Fox said. “We feel like this micromobility revolution is really important, but the infrastructure is lacking … and so our goal was just to kind of bring order to that chaos. ”
