Live music events in Georgia are back—sort of.

Live Nation is putting on Live From The Drive-In, a drive-in concert experience, for two weekends in October at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in Alpharetta.

All four concerts will feature artists with some Georgia roots, including Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit on Oct. 16, Blackberry Smoke on Oct. 17, Indigo Girls on Oct. 23 and Yacht Rock Revue on Oct. 24. Currently, tickets for Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit and Indigo Girls are sold out.

Concertgoers can enjoy a unique experience from their own private tailgating zone where they can also bring their own chairs, food and drinks. Each zone can hold one car and four fans maximum. Tickets range from $169 to $340 and determine what zone you’ll be in.

“We are thrilled to have live music returning safely to the Atlanta area for a great weekend of Live From The Drive-In. We’ve seen such a great demand from fans to get back to concerts in a safe manner and from artists to get back on the stage to perform again,” said Peter Conlon, President of Live Nation Atlanta. “It’s also really great to be bringing live event jobs back to some local crew and workers who have been out of work since March. We can’t wait to see everyone come out!”

In late July, a Chainsmokers concert in the Hamptons was marketed similarly as a socially distanced drive-in concert. However, pictures soon went viral of concertgoers standing together in packed crowds without masks.

According to Live Nation, safety is top of mind. Masks will not be required within your designated tailgate space but will be in common areas, and “commingling between spaces is strictly prohibited.”

This Live Nation concert series debuted in July with drive-in shows in St. Lois, Nashville and Indianapolis featuring Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker and Nelly.
