It’s been about a year since Mirtha Ramos moved from Florida to Georgia to lead the DeKalb County Police Department.

Ramos officially began her new role with DeKalb on Nov. 4 after serving for nearly two decades in Miami.

In her conversation with “Closer Look” host Rose Scott last November, Ramos talked about the need for officers and the community to better understand one another.

On Monday, Ramos joined the program once again to reflect on the past year and share her perspective on the pandemic, recent calls for police reform and some of the changes she has implemented.
