The new documentary ‘High on Heels‘ explores the multi-century long history of a beloved fashion accessory. The film explores the different aspects of heels as a lifestyle choice, the shoe’s history, and the health factors that come with wearing them.
It features interviews with shoe designers, stylists, dancers, models, educators, and everyday women who wear heels.
Adelin Gasana is an independent filmmaker based here in Atlanta and is the creative behind the film.
“‘High on Heels’ is a short documentary film. High heels is an experience for women, it represents beauty, sexuality, sophistication, and empowerment,” Gasana says. “So we go into the history of it, and really explain how high heels is more than just a shoe for women.”
Gasana joined Lois Reitzes for a conversation about the film, and the importance of high heels in our culture. The film is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now.
