City Springs Theatre’s latest digital production is “Sentimental Journey,” which is above all else a celebration of the Great American Songbook. Directed by and starring Grammy Award winner and City Springs casting director Kayce Grogan-Wallace, the production hopes to take audiences down memory lane, inspiring visions of old jazz clubs and swinging music.
The production will feature a wealth of American jazz standards, ” It Don’t Mean A Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing),” “Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend,” “I Got Rhythm,” “I Only Have Eyes For You,” “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” “Fly Me To The Moon,” “Summertime,” “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “Ain’t That A Kick In The Head,” just to name a few.
Grogan-Wallace and Brandt Blocker, executive and artistic director for City Springs Theatre, joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes for a conversation about the performance.
“Sentimental Journey” will be streamed online through Sunday.
