The youngest restaurant owner in Georgia created his own recipe for success long before becoming a teenager.
Mason Wright, the owner of Mason’s Super Dogs in Stonecrest, says his road to entrepreneurship began when he was 9 years old — when he’d wash his neighbor’s cars, mow lawns and walk dogs to earn cash.
Mason says he used the money from those gigs to purchase his first food cart, which paved the way for him to sell hot dogs on the Morehouse College campus.
“The No. 1 rule for business, for me, would be to start making your own ingredients for success ahead of time, like start as soon as you can,” the 14-year-old said.
On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Mason and his older sister and mentor, Mary-Pat Hector, talked with show host Rose Scott about how a trip to New York City inspired Mason’s business concept to sell hot dogs with various toppings.
