United Way of Greater Atlanta President Reflects On Leading Nonprofit Amid Pandemic

Milton Little, the president and CEO of the United Way of Greater Atlanta, joins “Closer Look” to discuss several topics, including the successes and challenges in administering funding and resources to people in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Milton Little, the president and CEO of the United Way of Greater Atlanta, says 2020 has been challenging.

“This is a year that has taken a toll on every person imaginable,” explained Little. “ In past disasters, some people have just been able to sort of skate without any touch,  but all of us have been touched by the pandemic.”

During the conversation, Little talked with show host Rose Scott about navigating fundraising challenges coupled with a growing demand for relief services, furloughing employees to tackle operational expenses and how his organization is working with Atlanta city officials to administer rental relief funds for people in need by the end of the year.



He also shared how the United Way of Greater Atlanta, which supports 13 counties in Georgia, partnered with other organizations to address homelessness, food insecurity, the digital divide during the global health crisis.
