Longtime AJC Political Columnist Announces His Retirement, Reflects On His Career

Political Columnist Jim Galloway spoke to Rose Scott on “Closer Look.”

After more than 40 years at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, long-time political columnist Jim Galloway recently announced plans to retire after the January run-off elections in Georgia.

His retirement announcement came after a contentious 2020 election season, which resulted in Georgia voters choosing a Democratic presidential candidate for the first time in decades.

On Friday’s edition of Closer Look, Galloway joined host Rose Scott for a conversation looking back on a memorable election season, and reflecting upon his career as a reporter at the University of Georgia and, later, the AJC.
