AAA is urging people to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta this holiday season and not ravel.

Forecasters say Dec. 23 through Jan. 3 is typically the peak holiday and end of year travel period.

But this year is different.

The Auto Club says the public’s concern about COVID-19 will prompt many to stay closer to home this year and save the “destination vacation” for another time.

However, those who plan to travel despite the pandemic are asked to understand the risks involved and to take measures to keep themselves and others safe.

Public health officials say plan ahead and also confirm plans to minimize any last-minute changes. Travelers are also advised to follow the guidance of local health departments upon arrival.
