Planning a wedding looks very different in the age of COVID-19. The Atlanta Wedding Extravaganza is offering a virtual expo at the end of this month to showcase some of Atlanta’s best vendors–and to help guide couples through this uncertain time.

“City Lights” producer Summer Evans spoke with Shelly Danz, the producer of the expo, about what’s in store.

The first, week-long, virtual “Atlanta Bridal Extravaganza” was held last July. Danz decided to change the name to “Atlanta Wedding Extravaganza” to be more inclusive of all couples and individuals.

This year’s virtual expo will offer new vendors, prizes, giveaways, and a recorded fashion show. The fashion show was held at the Fox Theatre in front of a small, live audience, and it featured new 2021 looks for brides, grooms, and attendees. The recorded fashion show will be screened at the expo with descriptions of the attire, followed by a Q&A session with wedding fashion experts.

Due to the pandemic, many vendors have restructured their wedding packages to create more intimate and non-traditional ceremonies.

“They have come up with so many fun, unique, different ideas that maybe they might have not come up with if we weren’t stuck in our houses all this time,” said Danz.

She continued, “So I think for these brides and grooms to hear some of these new ideas that they’ve come up with is going to be something really helpful for these couples.”

The show will be held Jan. 23-29. More information about what’s offered and tickets can be found here.
