The top leader of the Metro Atlanta Chamber says the organization recently launched ATL Action for Racial Equity to address the ongoing effects of systemic racism impacting Atlanta’s Black community.
This is a plan specifically built for the Black community, Black businesses and Black talent,” explained Katie Kirkpatrick, the president and CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber on Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look.”
During the conversation, Kirkpatrick told show host Rose Scott that the multi-year, multi-step action regional plan was largely driven to create generational wealth in the Black community.
So far, more than 150 businesses like Delta Air Lines, Coca-Cola and the Atlanta Hawks have signed onto the plan that calls for a change in corporate policies, inclusive workforce development, education expansion and investment in workforce development.
