Isakson Living’s Chief Operating Officer Reflects On Park Springs’ Progress, Challenges One Year After Lock-In
Tuesday marks one year since staff at a Stone Mountain continuing-care retirement community participated in a lock-in to keep members and staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Park Springs staff, over the course of 75 days, a total of 75 employees voluntarily sheltered in place with Park Springs members to proactively stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
“We became our members’ second families, and they became ours,” said Donna Moore, the chief operating officer for Isakson Living, which owns and operates Park Springs.
On Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Moore reflected on the last 12 months and her staff’s response during the pandemic.
“It is a calling, and I work with people who have been called to serve seniors,” Moore said.
During the virtual conversation, Moore talked with show host Rose Scott about several topics, including the retirement community’s commitment to person-centered care and how it handled COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy.
She also shared plans on how Parks Springs will continue to be creative while putting their members’ health and safety first.
