Former Georgia U.S. Sen. David Perdue is announced his run for governor, setting up a major challenge for the current Gov. Brian Kemp in the Republican primary.
Perdue’s entry into the race follows months of former President Trump encouraging him to do so and comes just days after Democrat Stacey Abrams announced her candidacy for governor of Georgia.
