A brunch turns political. How one group of southern Black women will navigate another Trump administration

It’s Saturday afternoon in Atlanta, and a group of eight educated and accomplished Black women talked about life after the Nov. 5 general election.

Sitting around a brunch table in a lively Midtown restaurant, all supported Kamala Harris. Not one disputed the results that earned Donald Trump another stay in the White House. There were no thoughts that the election was in any way unfair.

Their conversation centered around God and country — and how one of the strongest voting blocs in America will navigate a future they find murky at best.
