This Tuesday’s Republican gubernatorial primary ended without an outright winner.

The first-place finisher, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, will face the second-place finisher, Secretary of State Brian Kemp, in a primary runoff later this summer.

The winner of that July 24 election will go on to face Democrat Stacey Abrams in November’s general election.

In the wake of this week’s election, WABE’s Sam Whitehead spoke with Cagle about the results and his campaign’s path forward to the primary runoff.

Their conversation aired during “All Things Considered” with Amy Kiley.
