Most known for his iconic role as “Theo Huxtable” on the sitcom series, The Cosby Show, Malcolm-Jamal Warner is much more than merely an Emmy-nominated actor.
In addition to his numerous acting roles in the almost four decades since the beginning of his career, Malcolm-Jamal Warner is also a Grammy award-winning musician, spoken word artist and director.
As a musician, Warner is an accomplished bassist and band leader. He’s released four critically-acclaimed spoken word albums: Miles Long Mix Tape (in 2003), Love and Other Social Issues (in 2007), Selfless (in 2015), and his most recent Grammy-nominated album Hiding in Plain View, released in 2022.
In this interview, “City Lights” producer Jeannine Etter speaks with Malcolm-Jamal Warner to discuss his most recent album and music career.
“The acting is what pays the bills but the poetry and music… it’s a lane that I can express myself in ways that I can’t as an actor,” Warner said.
