Advocacy Group Says Its Study Shows Housing Discrimination Against Hispanics in Metro Atlanta
On Monday, July 22, 2013, at a conference in New Orleans, the National Council of La Raza released a new report, in which it said it found housing discrimination against Latinos in three metropolitan areas: Atlanta; San Antonio; and Birmingham, Alabama.
The report, entitled “Puertas Cerradas: Housing Barriers for Hispanics,” was based on an investigation conducted by the Equal Rights Center, a 30-year-old civil rights organization which says it has conducted hundreds of fair housing tests.
WABE’s Denis O’Hayer spoke with Lindsay Daniels, Associate Director of Housing and Wealth Building Initiatives for the National Council of La Raza.
