AJC Pressroom
Marty Turner is a press foreman at the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Here he supervisees the printing of a river of newspapers at the AJC pressroom on Marietta Street. Each day he oversees the printing of about three-hundred thousand newspapers and twice that amount on Sunday. Turner says the AJC typically uses 40 to 50 large rolls of paper (each about the size of a refrigerator) to make a typical day’s newspaper, but each roll is about seven miles long.
