Area Colleges Focus on Haiti Relief

– Today local companies and colleges are helping in relief efforts for the country of Haiti.

Publix and Home Depot Charities both announced donations of 1-hundred-thousand dollars.

WABE's Rose Scott reports on area campus initiatives:

Jaymee Freeman is a member of Georgia State's women's volleyball team.

The freshman says they wanted to do something to help:

((our goal was 250 dollars we actually got a thousand and that was really good))

Just a few miles away, Clark Atlanta's president Dr. Carlton Brown is leading a community forum on Haitian Relief:

((we have members of the Haitian community in relief efforts))

Spelman students and the Morehouse School of Medicine are also raising money.

And tonight Georgia Tech students will hold a vigil outside the student union center.
