In wake of the recent mass shootings across the nation, Jody Baumstein, a licensed therapist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Strong4Life, says there’s not a certain age to talk with kids about violence, however, if a child has been remotely exposed, parents and caregivers should address it.
“If we are constantly being exposed, we are constantly living in a state of fear,” explained Baumstein on Friday’s edition of “Closer Look.”
Bausteim further explained that it’s important to have a balanced approach when talking with kids about difficult topics and said that parents shouldn’t shield their kids away from the news, but provide them with tools to cope.
