Atlanta City Council Approves Master Plan For Downtown
The plan, sponsored by Councilman Kwanza Hall and Councilwoman Natalyn Archibong, seeks to keep downtown Atlanta a “bustling business district while adding 10,000 new residents.”

The Atlanta City Council has approved a 15-year blueprint for the redevelopment of the city’s downtown.
The plan, sponsored by Councilman Kwanza Hall and Councilwoman Natalyn Archibong, seeks to keep downtown Atlanta a “bustling business district while adding 10,000 new residents.”
Hall says the plan, formally approved Monday, will serve as guidance for policy decisions and infrastructure improvements in the downtown area.
The City Council, in a news release Tuesday, said more than $4 billion in public and private investment has gone into downtown Atlanta over the past 10 years and another $3.8 billion into recent projects including development of the railroad gulch, the renovation of Philips Arena, the sale of Underground Atlanta and the sale and redevelopment of the Atlanta Civic Center.
