Atlanta City Council President Felicia Moore is urging Atlanta residents to stay home, despite Gov. Brian Kemp’s decision to reopen some nonessential businesses.

On Monday, Kemp gave the green light for gyms, hair salons, barbershops, bowling alleys, body art studios and other similar businesses to reopen Friday as long as they adhere to social-distancing guidelines outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other sanitation measures.

Kemp also announced that restaurants will be able to resume dine-in service on a limited basis and movie theaters will be allowed to reopen next week.

Kemp says the decision was made to help small businesses long term and to get Georgians back to work safely.

But many people are opposed to the governor’s plan to reopen Georgia’s economy.

On a recent episode of “Closer Look,” Moore told host Rose Scott she thinks it’s too dangerous to reopen businesses.

“I am still trying to understand how you have a social-distancing massage,” Moore said.

Throughout the conversation, Moore stressed that people should use extreme caution and stay home.

She also shared her thoughts about possible local legislation that would require residents to wear masks in public spaces.
