Atlanta City Councilmembers On The Approval Of New Public Safety Training Center

In a 10-4 vote Wednesday, the Atlanta City Council approved a controversial plan to build a state-of-the-art public safety training center at the Old Atlanta Prison Farm site.

The $90-million project is expected to be funded by the Atlanta Police Foundation, the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation and the City Of Atlanta.

According to several reports, Gov. Brian Kemp recently wrote a letter to the Atlanta City Council in support of the training center.

On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Atlanta City Councilmembers Natalyn Archibong and Matt Westmoreland talked with show host Rose Scott about community concerns and support of the site and their individual positions about the new training center.
