Atlanta Dream Swept Out of WNBA Finals For Third Time

It was the team’s third appearance in the championship series and it was the third time the team was swept in the finals.

Minnesota didn’t change a thing heading into the game.

They dominated the Dream in games one and two.

The Lynx jumped out to an early lead on the Dream and it appeared another blowout was on the way.

However, Atlanta battled through and by halftime was only down by 3 points.

But, the Dream never got any closer.

In the second half the Lynx poured on the points and the Dream couldn’t match their offense.

“They jumped on us early and we fought back and try to get back in and make it single digits. They got some people who can bust a long run on you.”

It was no surprise Lynx forward and Georgia native Maya Moore was named finals MVP.

She led all scorers with 23 points.

Minnesota fan Lynx Barb Price had some encouraging words for Dream fans.

“But the best thing about the Lynx is that they play like a team. There’s no one super star on that team. They all play like a team. And if the Dream would do that they would be much more competitive.”

This was the second time the Dream lost to the Lynx in the championship series.

Minnesota won its first championship in 2011.
