During President Biden’s 2022 State of the Union address, he mentioned that Americans have lived through two of the hardest years and many people are struggling and living paycheck to paycheck.

Mike Alexander, the senior director of the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Center for Livable Communities joined Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look’s” Paycheck to Paycheck series. He echoed that many people were caught off guard by inflation amid the pandemic.

During the conversation, Alexander talked with program host Rose Scott about metro Atlanta’s economy in regards to job growth and housing affordability.

He explained that metro Atlanta is experiencing wage increases in low-wage job sectors, but it’s not enough because people are having to pay more money out due to inflation.
