The Atlanta Hawks have their sights set on capturing a playoff berth — and they’ll have more fans to cheer them on in the second half of the regular season.
State Farm Arena will increase seating capacity to 3,000 fans, starting with Friday night’s home game against the Sacramento Kings, according to Hawks CEO Steve Koonin. It’s an increase of almost double after hosting as many as 1,600 fans during the first half of the season.
The Hawks (16-20) have gradually increased attendance at home games this season while adhering to COVID-19 protocols and state guidelines. Limited Hawks tickets have been available for season-ticket members, but the team now plans to put single-game tickets on sale starting this weekend.
