Stocks may be plunging, but house prices are still growing. Or at least they were as of October, according to a widely watched index.
Home prices in Atlanta were 6.0 percent higher in October than they were a year earlier, according to results released today by the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indices.
The data shows that the rate of home price increases across the U.S. slowed for the third month in a row. The top 20 cities in the survey, including Atlanta, saw house prices post a 5.0 percent year-over-year gain, down from 5.2 percent in the previous month.
