Atlanta inspector general: 'We are being blocked,' while handling more than 90 active investigations

The City of Atlanta’s first inspector general says her office is under-resourced and facing obstruction while handling more than 90 active investigations.

On Friday’s edition of “Closer Look,” inspector General Shannon Manigault spoke with show host Rose Scott about the process of investigating claims and the importance of accountability and transparency through oversight.

The inspector general’s office, Established in 2020, investigates fraud, waste, corruption, abuse, and mismanagement within city government offices. During the discussion, Manigault detailed some of the obstruction that her office is facing and addressed some of the claims against her offices work.
