On the “City Lights” series “Speaking of Art,” local artists share insights into their influences, processes, and experiences in town. This edition features multidisciplinary artist Gabi Madrid.
“I work from my shop at South River Art Studios, where I mainly do my welding, woodcarving, [or] anything that generates a lot of dust,” Madrid said.
“I explore all these different mediums that are expressing ideas, concepts, that I am processing and working through in my own life, and mainly that centers around my own trauma, my own experience as a human being, and that’s what I want to express with my work.”
