But where does medicine start in terms of fixing these larger health disparities? Dr. Anita Johnson is one Black Atlanta doctor fighting to end these biases and improve the standard of care for all patients.
Johnson is a breast surgical oncologist and chief of surgery at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Newnan. When she sat down with WABE’s “All Things Considered” host Jim Burress, she started by discussing how racial biases play out in her experience.
