The holiday shopping season is closing in. Some retail outlets already have Christmas displays up, even though Halloween isn’t even here yet.
Last year, hackers breached debit and credit card scanners at Target, stealing thousands of customers’ personal and financial information from the company’s database. Atlanta-based Home Depot was also targeted.
The theft of customers’ information from businesses across the U.S. in recent years has led to questions about corporate responsibility and security systems.
