Documentary filmmaker Eunice Lau discusses Asian gangs in Atlanta and ''A-Town Boyz,'' her new movie on WABE's ''A Closer Look.'' Local music producer Danny Eun also talks to Rose Scott and Denis O'Hayer about his high school experiences with gangs.

What started as a story about Asian gangs in Atlanta has evolved into a more in-depth look at the Asian culture in the city and immigrants’ struggle to integrate into Western society.

Documentary filmmaker Eunice Lau’s latest film “A-Town Boyz” examines the difficulties experienced by young people of Asian descent in Atlanta, who are torn between a loyalty to their heritage and assimilating into Western culture.

Rose Scott and Denis O’Hayer talked with Lau about her efforts and objectives in making this stark film about the realities and challenges Asian immigrants face as they try and fit into American society.

Also on “A Closer Look,” local music producer Danny Eun, a Korean-American who grew up in Atlanta,  discusses his experiences living in the city, the lure of gang life and the dynamics that cause a group of disenchanted youth to form a gang.
