In WABE’s series “Atlanta’s Savory Stories,” our food contributors Akila McConnell, culinary historian, and Chef Asata Reid bring us histories and recommendations from Atlanta’s diverse culinary landscape. Today, they’re discussing Atlanta’s pizza scene from the New York-styled to Neapolitan to the Chicago deep dish.

“Pizza was such a novelty that the Atlanta Constitution provided a definition of pizza for Atlanta’s citizens,” McConnell said.
