Attorney General Chris Carr discusses the role of the AG’s office and top legislative priorities
Attorney General Chris Carr says his job is to uphold the laws of the state of Georgia.
“We’re the lawyers for the executive branch state of the state government,” explained Carr on Friday’s edition of “Closer Look.”
Carr further explained to program host Rose Scott that his office is required to uphold the U.S. Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Georgia, and to represent the people of the state.
During the conversation, Carr also talked about the recent lawsuits filed by the state in response to the Biden administration’s efforts to mandate COVID-19 vaccines, and his top priorities and outlook, including establishing a new gang prosecution unit and efforts to combat the opioid crisis.
