Ryan Cameron, the voice of Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport, will soon be heard by Yellow Jackets everywhere this season. The award-winning radio personality is the new public address announcer for the Yellow Jackets’ home football games this season.

Whether it’s a football game inside of Mercedes-Benz Stadium or returning home from a distant trip, most Atlantans have grown to recognize Cameron’s distinctive voice.

The Atlanta-born radio personality said he looks forward to bringing his energy to college football.

“I’m excited about [the] field goals, touchdowns, getting to, you know, know the crowd,” he said. “The college atmosphere at Georgia Tech is unmatched.”

Fans will hear Cameron’s Yellow Jacket debut on Saturday, Aug. 31, when Tech faces Georgia State at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field. Kick-off is 8 p.m.

Charles Nieves, the chief revenue officer for Georgia Tech athletics, says the addition of Cameron is part of the Yellow Jackets’ remodeling and rebranding initiative, which started over a year ago.

“We looked to bring in a new football coach last year in Brent Key and really revitalize the program from a brand and marketing perspective because we have lost the connectivity with the traditional college football fan in the Atlanta market,” he added.
