Carole King was a songwriter cut from rare cloth who shied away from the spotlight almost as much as she emphatically deserved it.
The hit musical chronicling her life, “Beautiful,” embraces King’s towering talent while giving us a glimpse into the intimate moments that inspired her generation-defining songs like “You’ve Got a Friend” and “It’s Too Late.”
A new production of “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” is on stage at Aurora Theatre through September 17, directed and choreographed by David Rossetti.
In this interview, “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes speaks with Rossetti and Aurora Theatre co-artistic director and musical director Ann-Carol Pence.
