Growing up is hard. It can be even harder for youth struggling to figure out their sexual orientation.
Nic Stone, the New York Times best-selling author of “Dear Martin,” which focused on race relations, explores sexual orientation and labels in her new book “ODD ONE OUT.”
“I’m really hoping that kids, what they take away from this book, is their identity is up to them,” Atlanta-based Stone explained to “City Lights” producer Miranda Hawkins. “Who they are is up to them.”
The story follows two girls and one boy as they became immersed in a love triangle where all options are possible.
“ODD ONE OUT” hits bookshelves Oct. 9.
