A new general election poll from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution forecasts a slight advantage for GOP candidates in many Georgia races.
With the exception of incumbent Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock, polling shows most Republican candidates at a higher advantage for voter approval and potential victories in November compared to their Democratic opponents.
On this edition of “Closer Look,” Atlanta-based political strategist Fred Hicks joins host Rose Scott to discuss what the numbers mean for candidates on both party sides, their supporters, and the possible outcomes of November’s election.
Hicks cautioned that this latest poll doesn’t mean the race is over.
“It’s better to be ahead than behind, but being behind does not mean that that is the final story,” said Hicks. “We’ve got 40 days plus… it’s going to be interesting to see how both sides play this.”
