As crises and disasters are unfolding around the world, Atlanta-based CARE USA is responding. The international humanitarian organization operates in more than 100 countries, and its global impact reaches at least 167 million people, according to CARE’s website.

On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Michelle Nunn, who serves as the president and CEO of CARE USA, talked about how the NGO is currently operating in 59 countries that are currently facing a crisis.

Nunn further discussed how CARE teams and its partners are responding to the crises happening in Sudan, Gaza, Haiti and Ukraine. Nunn also highlighted how climate change is impacting their efforts and why it’s important to empower women and local groups in the humanitarian response.
