Atlanta, GA – Carrie Mae Weems is an internationally acclaimed photographer and artist. Her award winning work has explored the issues of race, gender and politics.

This year— as part of the National Black Arts Festival?Weems puts a new face on historic civil rights events with her latest project called—In Constructing History: A Requiem to Mark the Moment.

Located inside the Woodruff Arts Center the exhibit is a photographic journey thru history and it's also where WABE's Rose Scott spent some time with the award winning artist:
