As the world honors the presidential legacy, humanitarian and peacemaking achievements of Jimmy Carter, we explore on “City Lights” his lifelong interest in the arts and humanities. Today’s show combines all of Carter’s conversations with explorations of the impact he left on the world around him.

We’ll listen back to President Carter talking about his first book of poetry that he released in 1995, titled, “Always A Reckoning, and Other Poems.” Carter also loved to paint, and we’ll hear about his works on display at the Carter Center. Finally, we’ll dive deep into the music that played a tremendous role in his life through conversations about the film, “Jimmy Carter Rock and Roll President.”
