President Donald Trump is eager for the nation to get back to business.

He recently told state governors they can remove their own shelter-in-place or strict social distancing mandates, when the time is right.

Still, Georgia’s shelter-in-place order remains in effect through April 30. And, many county, city, and local leaders have declared states of emergency and restrictions of their own.

In Clayton County, Commission Chair Jeffrey Turner recently extended the county’s state of emergency to May 13.

Turner also recently announced plans to bring county staff back to work starting on May 4.

On today’s edition of “Closer Look,”  Turner told host Rose Scott about the impact the COVID-19 pandemic may have on his county’s budget, and the steps the county is taking to provide resources to residents during the pandemic.
