Attorney General Chris Carr’s office is appealing Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney’s Sept. 30 ruling, which declared Georgia’s ban on abortions after around six weeks of pregnancy unconstitutional.

The Georgia Supreme Court recently reinstated Georgia’s abortion ban while it considers the state’s appeal.

On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” A.C. Coquillas, the communications manager at Feminist Women’s Health Center, told show host Rose Scott that ongoing back-and-forth with the courts has taken an emotional toll. Coquillas further explained how FWHC remains committed to offering compassionate reproductive health care to people who seek an abortion within the legal time frame.
