A Conversation with the Outgoing Dean of the Georgia Senate, George Hooks
He’s been called the Dean of the Senate. After years of battles over the state flag, it was his design that finally became the flag Georgia has today. He’s served a corner of rural Georgia for more than three decades, while at times advocating major projects in metro Atlanta. Americus Democrat George Hooks is retiring from the Senate, but he says he’s not going away. He gave his thoughts on everything from the flag, to the current state of the Georgia Democratic Party, to taxes, to seersucker suits, in a conversation with WABE’s Denis O’Hayer (for broadcast version, click the top button; for expanded version, click the bottom button).
