Corteo brings Magic to Atlanta

Cirque du Soleil brings Corteo and philanthropy to Atlanta

Produced and Edited by Wanda Yang Temko

– CIRQUE DU SOLEIL returns to Atlanta after a two-year absence to present Corteo, its latest live touring show. Corteo will be in residence at Atlantic Station under its trademark blue-and-yellow Grand Chapiteau through January 28.

Corteo, which means “cortege” in Italian, is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown. The show brings together the passion of the actor with the grace and power of the acrobat to plunge the audience into a theatrical world of fun, comedy and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth.

However, Cirque also brings philanthropy to the towns in which they are in residence, and this time around they have partnered once again with The Bridge, which assists at-risk-youth right here in Atlanta. Corteo's Tour Manager, Heather Reilly, talked with WABE's Wanda Yang Temko.
