Zarickus Worthy says he and his daughter, Zymeriya Worthy, know first-hand the dangers of gun violence.

Worthy says they have lost friends and family because of gun violence and are now on a mission to bring awareness.

In their new self-published children’s book, “The Drills,” the father-daughter duo shares how gun violence impacts all communities.

On Friday’s edition of “Closer Look,” the Worthys talked with show host Rose Scott about their new book and the feedback they are getting from readers.

“I hope the kids, basically, find it entertaining but also educational,” explained Zarickus. “Like I said before, I have witnessed a lot of gun violence, so I wouldn’t wish that on anybody.”
