Juneteenth through July 4th is Civic Season
Held between Juneteenth and July 4, Civic Season unites the United States’s oldest federal holiday with its newest, in a summertime celebration of who we are as a nation, how we got here and where we want to go next.
Created by History Made By Us, Civic Season has 400 participating organizations in all 50 states offering more than 1,000 programs, events, and resources to discover at TheCivicSeason.com. 30 communities will kick off Civic Season with live events on June 17th.
By 2028, Gen Z and Millennials will outnumber all other generations as eligible voters. Gen Z, born between 1997 and 2017, is already intensely tuned into politics and current events. They prioritize education, community, and building a better future and seek the information to make informed decisions.
- 62% want to be more involved in social causes and issues, nationally and locally.
- 53% of registered 18- to 29-year-olds voted in 2020, the highest ever recorded in the modern era.
- 83% of 18–29-year-olds say young people can change the country.
- Only 16% of Gen Z say they are proud to live in the United States.
- 25% feel confident in U.S. democracy.
- 48% have felt unsafe in the past month.
