But the international fantasy, pop culture and science fiction convention will look a little bit different.
For the first time in 34 years, the event that has drawn crowds of 85,000 to downtown Atlanta is being held virtually.
Dan Carroll, director of media engagement at Dragon Con, says this year’s free four-day virtual event called Dragon Con Goes Virtual is Dragon Con’s gift to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Wednesday’s edition of “Close Look,” Carroll talks with show host Rose Scott about the program’s lineup, virtual parade and what convention-goers can expect this weekend.
During the conversation, Caroll also reflects on the passing of Chadwick Boseman and how his untimely death shocked the Dragon Con community.
